Wendy Du Plessis Art

As a child Wendy was always drawing or painting animals, but it wasn't until 1972 that she started painting in oils and sold her first painting of a racehorse to Gary Player.

Wendy aims to capture each animals unique personality and she feels that her interest and knowledge of the subject enables her to do this. Wendy believes that the ability to paint is within all of us.

Never taking any formal training in art, Wendy's talent is brought to life through the research she does for each subject. She is continually researching new and better ways to approach a new painting.

Years of riding and working with horses has given her the knowledge of anatomy and muscle movement which shows in her paintings and sculptures.

Wendy's paintings hang in private collections throughout the world and she has exhibited at horse shows for many years. She will also do commissions of any animal from good photographs in either oils on canvas or in pastels.
